It is completely understandable to want the lowest price but remember that infamous quote “you get what you pay for.” If it sounds too good to be true and a lot less than other quotes... RUN!
Credibility & Capability
Do your research.. Look online and do some digging. Are there any complaints on BBB, Find credible websites with “real customer reviews” such as Home Advisor, Home Depot Pro, Porch by Lowe’s and so on.
Portfolio & Specialties
Look at their portfolio of projects. Do you see any work similar your project? Sometimes contractors specialize in specific areas and some do not. If your project requires a specialty skill such as , ). Flooring installation, Wainscoting Finish Carpentry if they have a good amount of experience doing it! They may have good intentions but expertise is a priority to get the job done right the first time and of course, meet or exceed your expectations.
Get it in Writing Always
Always have a contract! NO EXCEPTIONS. Your contract should be specific with regard to what is included and what is not. Here are some KEY elements to look for:
